This programme is designed to meet a growing industry demand for increased knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, involved in both chemical synthesis and bio-processing applications.
This programme is specifically designed for learners seeking a qualification that will enable them to either progress within their current employment or take up employment within regulated manufacturing operations roles.
The course enables learners to develop the requisite knowledge, skills and competence to work independently or under supervision whilst working in the life science industry and/or to progress to further and/or higher education and training.

This part-time programme runs over 9 months. Lectures are delivered online mid-week with a number of Saturday face to face throughout the programme.
This course will cover the following modules.
Module 1: Quality and Good Manufacturing Practice (15 ECTS)
Regulatory framework and legislative requirements, eGMP & Quality Management Systems, Quality Documentation, PPE, SOPs, CAPA.
Module 2: Continuous Improvement Manufacturing (15 ECTS)
Value stream mapping in continuous improvement, Six Sigma, DMAIC, 5S, Problem solving – Pareto Principle, 5 Whys, Brainstorming, Cause & Effect, Diagram and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Poka Yoke, Kaizen, TPM & SMED.
Module 3: Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness (15 ECTS)
Regulatory and legislative frameworks, Health, safety and environment systems, Waste management concepts and environmental impact
Proficiency in English Language Required (B2+ level or equivalent on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Applicants must be currently employed and aged 18+
Entrants and graduates of this programme can also complete an additional module in Cleanroom Operations with LOETB in order to gain a major award in Life Science Manufacturing Operations.

In addition learners can also progress onto lnnopharma Educations’s Higher Education programmes at QQI L6.
Participants may also gain employment in suitable roles within the life science sector.
